HOMELESS PREVENTION
The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend’s Homeless Prevention programs help individuals who are at risk of becoming homeless. Case mangers work with clients on a case by case basis to determine their needs.Rent and utility assistanceis available to help individuals become up-to-date with their bill.
The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend’s Homeless Prevention programs help combat the top three reasons for Homelessness in Corpus Christi:
- Inability to pay the rent/mortgage,
- Unemployment
- Divorce or separation.
DO YOU NEED HELP WITH YOUR UTILITY BILL OR RENT?
The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend is able to provide utility and rental assistance through theESG CV-Rental Assistance Grant. These funds are provided byThe City of Corpus Christi through the Cares Actand is intended to help those impacted financially byCOVID-19.
QUALIFICATIONS
Anyone impacted financially by Covid 19 can apply, income eligibility is determined through application process. All are encouraged to apply regardless of income.

Download the applicationfrom this page. Once the application is filled out, you can bring the application to our Social Services officer located at 1804 Buford St., Corpus Christi, TX 78404between 9AM and 2:30 PM Monday through Friday.

Rent and Utility Assistance Checklist
*Must provide all documentation
Lease
Identification for each member of the household:
- ID or Driver License
- Social Security Card
- Birth Certificate
Proof of Income
- The last 6 check stubs for every adult over 18 years
- TANAF, SSI/SSID/RSDS Award Letter and Unemployment Letter
- Child Support
- Documentation of Covid-19 Furlough/Employment Termination
For Rental Assistance
- Notice to Vacate or Eviction Notice
For Utility Assistance (Water, Electricity and Gas)
- Utility Bill
- Disconnect Notice
