What are the keys to consider when shopping for baseballs & softballs?
Practice vs Game Balls:
Practice balls are typically not approved for game use, because they have lowered seams or synthetic coverings. This is to maximize the life-span when used in pitching machines or harsh environments.
Synthetic vs Leather:
Synthetic / PVC / Dimpled balls have their place and can be an effective practice tool. Just ensure you purchase from a reputable manufacturer, as they are not all created equal and some have been known to damage aluminum bats.
Tip:
It's usually a good idea to purchase balls from the same company you purchase your pitching machine from, or ask for their recommendation. If it is a major ball manufacturer check with them on the machines they have tested their balls in. It's important the machines have been properly calibrated for the weight and proportion to work with certain balls.
A ball that works well in one machine may respond differently in another machine - or 2 baseballs from different manufacturers may behave oppositely in the same machine. This can become dangerous for the batter if not prepared for a pitch high & tight.

CONCLUSION. Yes, you can use a baseball glove for softball. But be sure to take a minute to think about the baseball glove you already own and what your defensive role will be on the slow pitch field.
Put simply, baseball pitchers throw overhand, while softballers pitch underhand. In softball, pitchers throw from a distance of just 43 feet and reach more than 60mph on the radar gun. In baseball, it's 60 feet 6 inches from pitcher to batter, with the ball often travelling faster than 90mph.
The stories are mostly set in the city of Birmingham, England, since in addition to its onomatopoeic nature of a car engine revving, Brum (as a contraction of "Brummagem") is a common colloquial name for Birmingham.
There is a difference between a chest protector for softball players and baseball players. Softball player chest protectors have a break in the chest to help fit the shape of female players. Chest protectors for women also don't come with removable groin protectors.
For baseball gloves, the pocket is more shallow (because the ball is smaller) and longer because baseballs are generally hit harder and travel faster. For softball gloves the pocket is deeper (because the ball is larger) and shorter because the ball isn't traveling as fast.
Field Size: A softball field is measured with 60 ft between each base, but a baseball field is 90 ft. Regulation Innings: A standard softball game is played with seven innings while a standard baseball game is played with nine.
