Prep Time 15 minutes mins

Cook Time 15 minutes mins

Total Time 30 minutes mins

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs - separated
  • 60 g cocoa powder
  • A few drops of vanilla
  • 70 g of sweetener can be adjusted to your taste

Frosting

  • 4 tbsp of quark
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp sweetener

Instructions

  • Firstly, squirt a baking tray with fry light then line with baking paper. I used a fairly long tray but use whatever you have!

  • Warm the oven to 180

  • Separate the yolk and the whites of the eggs - keep both - and whisk the whites in to a soft peak.

  • Next mix together the yolks, vanilla, cocoa powder and sweetener in another bowl, at this point it can get a little dry so add a little of the egg whites to loosen it up.

  • After this fold in the rest of the egg whites, pour in to a tray and pop in the oven.

  • I cooked mine for 15 minutes but depending on your tray you may need a few more minutes.

  • When nice and cool you can prepare your frosting.

  • Mix together the quark, sweetener and cocoa powder - it's super yummy!

  • Cut the brownies in to 25 add the frosting

Now don’t these look yummy! Sometimes you simply need a bit of something sweet and these Slimming World Chocolate Brownies are a perfect alternative to regular brownies, cakes or chocolate which would be so much higher in syns.

FAQs

How many Slimming World syns in a brownie? ›

These brownies are a decent size but still only one syn per square, which is pretty epic in my books…you're never going to get the gooey unhealthy effect that you do with regular brownies but if you're looking for a chocolate fix then they're incredible!

What's the difference between brownies and fudge brownies? ›

Brownies have a cake-like texture with a crispy top and a moist, fudgy center and are typically baked in a rectangular pan. Fudge, on the other hand, is typically made by cooking a mixture of sugar, butter, and milk or cream until it reaches a soft, chewy consistency.

What's the difference between chocolate brownies and cocoa brownies? ›

Cocoa brownies also tend to be softer, while chocolate-based brownies are fudgy and chewy. Cocoa brownies are richer in chocolate flavor, while chocolate brownies are lighter and sweeter in flavor.

What can I substitute for brownie mix to make it better? ›

Substitute Core Ingredients

A second change is to use butter instead of oil. For similar reasons to using milk, butter adds a rich and more decadent quality to the batter. Finally, try substituting egg yolks instead of using the whole egg listed in the ingredients of your box brownie mix.

Can I eat as much free food as I like on Slimming World? ›

Slimming World members love that they can eat Free Foods in unlimited amounts – with no counting, weighing or measuring needed, until they feel full – as well as the flexibility to choose Free Foods in the amounts that fit with their individual needs and requirements, for a truly personalised plan.

Are eggs still free on Slimming World? ›

The long list of Slimming World Free Foods includes fruit and veg, lean meat and fish, eggs and poultry, beans and lentils – and even pasta and rice! Find out more about Slimming World Free Foods and try some of our fantastically filling, completely Free Slimming World recipes.

What makes brownies fudgy vs cakey? ›

Fudgy brownies have a higher fat-to-flour ratio than cakey ones. So add more fat—in this case, butter and chocolate. A cakey batch has more flour and relies on baking powder for leavening. The amount of sugar and eggs does not change whether you're going fudgy or cakey.

What makes brownies more moist? ›

Adding more eggs to your brownies brings extra moisture.

Why are they called S * * * * * brownies? ›

The Londoner describes why they called them "slu*tty brownies" perfectly: "they're oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy." Just as simple as I would've imagined. They are as easy to make as they are messy to eat. If you look up slu*tty Brownies on Pinterest there are thousands of recipes listed.

Is it better to use cocoa powder or melted chocolate in brownies? ›

The secret to the fudgiest, most chocolaty brownies is cocoa powder—not melted chocolate. We borrowed chocolate expert Alice Medrich's technique, then added a cream cheese topping for tangy balance.

What are the three types of brownies? ›

Brownie textures fall into three general camps… Cakey, fudgy and chewy. Cakey brownies, like the name implies, are light, moist and airy, with a slightly fluffy, cake-like interior. Fudgy brownies are moist, dense and gooey, with almost the texture of fudge, but not quite as compact.

Which cooking chocolate is best for brownies? ›

Best Brownie Recipe Tips

In her book, Michelle writes that one of the biggest secrets to making great brownies is using large, good-quality chocolate chips. She recommends Ghiradelli's 60% Cacao Bittersweet Baking Chips, while I love Enjoy Life's Dark Chocolate Morsels. Either brand would fantastic in this recipe!

What happens if you add an extra egg to brownie mix? ›

If you opt to add more eggs, say double the amount, something interesting happens. Even though you are adding more moisture, the air bubbles that you catch in the extra eggs add volume, which decreases the density of your final product. This makes your brownies rise and gives them a much more cake-like texture.

What does adding milk instead of water do to brownies? ›

Brownie recipes traditionally call for water as it serves as a neutral liquid that hydrates the dry ingredients. However, using milk instead of water can impart a creamier texture and richer flavor to your brownies. The milk's fat content adds a smoothness that water cannot provide, resulting in a more indulgent treat.

How to jazz up boxed brownies? ›

Add a teaspoon of instant coffee or espresso powder. Throw in a handful of nuts—pecans, walnuts, macadamia, whatever you have on hand. Scoop in a palmful of dried or frozen fruit. Add an extra splash of the top-shelf vanilla extract, or a dab of vanilla paste, or a dash of vanilla powder, to the batter.
