The Pokémon franchise has a new champion, and it's not who you might expect! Pokopia, the life-sim spin-off, has just become the joint-highest rated Pokémon game on Metacritic with a score of 88, alongside the beloved Pokémon Y for the 3DS.
But here's the twist: Pokopia hasn't even been officially released yet! It's set to launch on March 5, 2026, but early reviews are already singing its praises. Our very own Ollie Reynolds called it "a fresh and charming adventure" and awarded it a stellar 8/10.
And this is where it gets interesting. Even the highly acclaimed remakes, HeartGold & SoulSilver for the DS, sit just below at 87. Could Pokopia be the new pinnacle of Pokémon games? It's a bold statement, but one that might just be true.
