Update: After releasing last year via select retailers,
Original Article: Following the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant in 2020, adidas wanted to honor his iconic basketball legacy and former partnership with the brand by bringing back one of his past silhouettes: the adidas Crazy 1. Throughout the course of 2022, the German sportswear brand has reissued the court classic in colorways like the “Sunshine” and “Stormtrooper,” and now its “Lakers Home” offering is gearing up for a glorious return.

This marks the rendition’s first return to the market since 2006, and it’s coming back with all of its original design cues. Its Lakers-inspired ensemble matches up with the squad’s alternate home threads. A crisp, angelic “Footwear White” dominates most of the upper half as it smothers the toe boxes, mesh tongues and side panels, the latter of which hosts tonal Three Stripes branding. “Court Purple” accents are sprinkled to the adidas logos that are embroidered into the tongues as well as the toe tip molds and the center of the midsoles. And to top off its Lakers motif, “Bold Gold” bursts pop out through the interior liners, heels and treading.
Looking to cop? Retailers like Asphalt Gold have these scheduled for a November 11 release for $140 USD.
Elsewhere in sneakers, an XLARGE x atmos x adidas ADIMATIC collaboration has been announced.
