Irish Pasta Recipe

This is a great dinner recipe to make for St Patrick’s Day that kids and adults will love. The peas give a nice green color to this dish and this pasta recipe is just a 10-minute prep! You’ll find yourself making this on a regular basis, it’s delicious! Finish the meal off with some Irish Bread Pudding.

This pasta recipe is similar to our Old-Fashioned American Goulash, but a big different and includes peas to look festive St Patrick’s Day.

Ingredients You Will Need:

  • Macaroni – you will boil the noodles before simmering with the sauce. Penne is also a good choice.
  • Ground Beef – we like to use 80/20. Ground turkey can also be used.
  • Onion – you will need to dice the onion. If you have kids, I suggest finely dicing.
  • Tomato – you will need a can of tomato sauce and and fire roasted diced tomatoes with garlic.
  • Seasoning – garlic powder, thyme, salt and pepper.
  • Peas – Frozen peas are used in this recipe. It takes a few minutes to thaw by running water over the peas.

You could also use a plant based meat substitute like Beyond Beef – which I did. I didn’t have frozen peas but had a box of fresh mushrooms so I used those. Very good.
