The historic center of Split, built entirely from white stone, is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site

You will visit a lot of historically important places, with cities like Dubrovnik and Split on top of the list.

Dubrovnik has a long and storied history, beautifully told in its beautiful Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains all found within its imposing fortress walls.

Split is the urban center of the eastern part of the Adriatic Sea, known for its beaches, beautiful promenade, warm Mediterranean climate, bars, and restaurants, but also for its 4th-century Roman palace in the city center.

The city grew around the palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian which had been built almost two millennia ago.

The historic center of Split, built entirely from white stone, is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site, just as the walls of Dubrovnik.

To take you away from all the culture and sightseeing, you will participate in a rafting trip. Be advised that you don't need previous rafting experience. Even children aged 6 years and older, accompanied by parents, can safely participate.

This trip also covers the area of torrent flows of Velika and Mala Paklenica.

The name Paklenica probably derives from a black pine sap called “paklina” which the locals used in traditional medicine, for wound treatment, and coating of wooden boats.

Velika and Mala Paklenica's distinctive canyons are carved vertically into the southern slopes of Velebit. This relatively small area has an abundance of exceptional diversity. Therefore its geomorphologic phenomena and forms, diverse flora and fauna, attractive landscapes, and intact nature will leave you breathless.

However, the historical fact is that many people stayed in mountain residences. This reflects in the ruins of numerous sacred buildings, such as churches, chapels, altars, holy hills, and measures. Trekking Paklenica National Park is the only way to get to know it, and that's just what you will do.

Day-by-day itinerary

DAY 1

Welcome to Dubrovnik!

Welcome to the town best known as "The Pearl of the Adriatic." Upon arrival at the airport, you'll transfer to your hotel for check-in. After a short rest, in the early afternoon, you will participate in the Game of Thrones walking tour.

A piece of history, Dubrovnik is one of the most ancient fortress cities in Europe. And while there's evidence of settlements as far back as the Byzantine era, this area only came into its own as an important power since the 13th century due in part to its strategic coastal position. After spending some time getting to know the city, duck into one of Dubrovnik's many wine bars to relax. It's a good plan, as there's no better manner in which to celebrate your first day in Croatia than by enjoying a glass of white or red wine as the sun goes down over Dubrovnik's Old Town.

DAY 2

Dubrovnik to Split, via Ston

Set out today to transfer along the coast to central Dalmatia and the city of Split. Depending on your preferences, you can either decide to self-drive or go by private transfer, an additional service we offer on request.

En route, you'll stop at the edge of the Pelješac peninsula to spend a little time in Ston. Ston is a small medieval town, and one of the very rare 100% planned and built Croatian cities. Upon arrival, you will definitely notice one of Ston trademarks which is Ston city walls. City walls are the longest fortified system in Europe and we suggest walking it! Apart from the walls, 2 other things that Ston is known for are oysters and mussels, and the Salt plant. Oysters and mussels have been grown here since Roman times. In the same period, Romans were producing the salt, and after the area was taken over by the Dubrovnik Republic, they built the oldest active salt plant on the whole Mediterranean. Apart from hiking the wall, your activity today will be kayaking in Mali Ston Bay. The bay is a Park of Nature and it has a certain level of protection because local oysters that are very important for the local population. You will kayak around the oyster farm and little islets in the bay. At the same time, you can enjoy the view of the City Walls of Ston, from the unique perspective from the kayaks!

When you're ready, continue your journey up the coast and further north to your final destination, where you'll check into your hotel and settle in before taking the rest of the afternoon to wander Split's historic center.

In the evening, take a stroll along Split's seafront Riva to admire the views over the Adriatic before finding the offbeat Konoba Dioklecijan restaurant, just to the left of the Bronze Gate for dinner, its outdoor terrace built into the walls of famed Diocletian's Palace.

Overnight in Split.

DAY 3

Hiking Paklenica and visit to Zadar

Today you will set out toward the northern part of the Dalmatian coast, to Zadar and the Paklenica National Park. The Paklenica trek is an easy to moderate trek and it doesn't take long to do. And if there was ever a morning worth getting up early, this is that morning. Trekking Paklenica National Park leads us into the most famous national park in Croatia for trekking and rock climbing. We will provide you with a map and the entrance fees.

In the afternoon, you can visit Zadar, an ancient city, full of historical and cultural monuments. It is three thousand years old, a city of tumultuous and dynamic history, often destroyed, looted, devastated, every time emerging from the ruins stronger, richer, and more beautiful.

After a fulfilling day, you will return to Split for your overnight.

DAY 4

The city of Skradin is the entrance to the national park. To reach the park you will need to take a short boat ride from Skradin in a beautiful wooden boat to Skradinski Buk. The boat ride is a chance to enjoy the unique natural beauty of the river, the rich flora, and fauna, and see numerous monuments and sacred buildings.

Once there, you will have a guided tour of the park after which you will get free time. You can spend it losing yourself among beautiful wildlife and nature, hiking, or having a picnic in spacious meadows that Krka offers.
