The Berkeley Springs State Park hosts the Bringing in the May Festival, Master Gardeners Plant Fair, Pride in the Park and the popular Hey, Girlfriend Weekend.
With open-daily spas and blocks of distinctive shopping, Berkeley Springs is always attractive to discerning women, both residents and visitors. “Gangs of women roaming the streets downtown is an almost every weekend sight in town,” says Laura Smith. “The hot trend of women traveling together is old news here. That’s why every June we’ve gone all out to celebrate the sisters, cousins, college roommates and carpooling moms who need time away with just the girls.”
Summer and the starry night skies are a backdrop for the crickets chirping, meteor showers, and the crackle of campfires. The sounds of summer include concerts every Saturday night in the park, the swoosh of golf clubs, the spin of wheels on mountain bikes, splashing of kids catching crawdads in the springs and the oohs and ahs of firework spectators. Each season has its own delights, and you can always eat well, bathe in comfort, sleep, shop and play outdoors.
