"Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Nonmagical Attacks that aren't Adamantine"
I was always under the impression that all Adamantine Weapons were magical. Or does this mean that not only does the weapon have to be magic, it also has to be Adamantine?

Adamantine is a material and not inherently "magical", you could have, for instance, a +1 adamantine longsword.
This resistance means that either a magical weapon or an adamantine weapon deals normal damage, it does not need to be both.

Xanathar's Guide includes new coverage of adamantine weapons (they auto-crit against objects). Adamantine Armor is magical, but weapons made of adamantine are not necessarily magical. An adamantine weapon can bypass a golem's damage immunity in the same way as a magic weapon.
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

Think of adamantine as a strong, rare, and valuable alloy. Like Valyrian steel in GoT. Not inherently magical, but a cut above steel weapons and armor.

It also doesn't affect constructs (which are still creatures anyway).

I'm picturing a siege corp with an Adamantine Ram, the pride of the corp, rushing a door that is actually an illusion and just falling straight through like a Carry On scene.

I think you mean hit that door so hard it instantly atomised, giving itthe illusion of being an illusion.

Adamantine weapons are rare. Few consider them worth the 500gp cost. But adamantine armor is well worth it. No more crits on you!

It was always my impression that Adamantine weapons were designed for people that wanted to run a campaign with little or no magic items. While magic items are technically optional, so many monsters have resistance against non-magical attacks that weapon users are seriously disadvantaged without a way around it.

There's very few monsters that are vulnerable to adamantine specifically; it's just golems, two earth-type elementals, and helmed horrors. If you add silvered weaponsto the mix you can also cover devils and lycanthropes,but that still leaves a significant number of enemies with resistance or immunity to nonmagical weapons though, including demons, elementals, and many undead.
I've never played in a low magic item campaign but I'd expect Magic Weapon to still be an absolute necessity if you don't want the martial characters sitting in the sidelines.

Almost no creatures are immune to weapon damage. They have resistance, and when I played that game they simply accepted the half damage.
